—What seats and what does not
A standard 12 oz can is 2.6 inches across the bottom. A Stanley Quencher 40 oz is 3.1 and seats snug. A mug with a handle does not seat at all — the handle lands exactly where the fins grip, and that is a straight no.
Every width below comes from a published specification, not from us. Where a spec is uncertain, the answer says so.
A standard sticky note is three inches square. A cup standing on one with its base inside the paper will seat.

—Does it actually work
Somebody sits down beside it, or a dog lands on the cushion, and the drink comes back level. The base is 5.2 inches across and spreads the load instead of balancing on a point.

—The limits, in one place
It resists tipping by widening the footprint the drink has to lean past. A hard enough knock moves anything, and a kicked drink is a kicked drink.
No clamp, no strap, no weight, no adhesive. It stands there and lifts off. If you want the drink fixed to the furniture, a console or an arm tray is the product for that.
The handle lands exactly where the fins grip. That includes two-handled mugs. A stemmed wine glass is also a straight no — the stem cannot seat.
It is a base. Condensation still runs down the outside of the can, so on a wooden ottoman top use a coaster the way you already would.
Somebody dropping onto the cushion beside it, a dog landing on the couch, the foam re-shaping — that is what the width is for, and the reviews above describe it. Being kicked off an ottoman is not.

Both arm accessories are $19.99, and both of them need an arm. That is the whole argument. On a sectional with eight modules and two arms, six seats cannot buy either one.
If your seat is an end seat with a flat track arm, buy the tray. It is the best surface on the couch and it is $19.99. This page is about the other six seats.

It is. Both arm accessories in the table are priced at $19.99, and both of them need an arm you may not have. Ninety days covers being wrong about it, used, with nothing to post back.
It is a matte moulded base, 2.8 inches tall, in twelve colours including bone, oat, sage and charcoal. No branding anybody can read across a room. It reads as part of the drink, not part of the furniture.
—Who makes it
Scott Rodriguez made the first one after a full drink went over on a soft cushion with three kids under three in the house. A couch cushion is the surface it was designed for, which is not true of most of the pages on this fleet and is true of this one.
